Spearheading JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok culinary team, British native Executive Chef Kevin Thomson brings over 25 years of experience of culinary experience and kitchen management from hotels around the world such as The Ritz-Carlton, Regent, Dukes, Banyan Tree, Hilton and Renaissance across Europe, the Caribbean and Asia Pacific. Not a stranger to culinary accolades, Kevin was awarded 1 Chef Hat in the Melbourne Good Food Guide in 2001, and 2 Chefs Hats the following year, and has won 2013 Award for Culinary Excellence (ACE) – Marriott Asia Pacific Continent Chef of the Year as well as 2013 Marriott Global Chef of the Year. He is also a respected member of the Chaine Des Rotisseurs and Disciples D’ Escoffier.
Chef Suriyan has been fascinated about food and creating dishes which he has held this passion to his entire culinary career. Some highlights in his road to success include his time working in the Hot Kitchen at the Rembrandt Hotel, training for a few years at The Mandarin Bangkok. He joined the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok since its opening in 1997 and has been with us at the New York Steakhouse from the very beginning. He brings with him a thorough knowledge of the ingredient and the outlet, and works to provide visitors a truly special treat. He has led his culinary team and upheld the New York Steakhouse as one of Bangkok’s top steakhouses throughout his tenure.
